Is the NBA's Eastern Conference a very competitve division or just a bust?

Who Is the Best In the Eastern Conference???????

I am sorry i havent been here in awhile i been watching alot of sports matchups just to have an idea of how teams are playing. Most people are on the bandwagon of the Western Conference in winning the Championship but they need to realize the Eastern Confernce has some very competitve teams

such as the Knicks. Heat, Bulls, and the much improved Nets under interim head coach P.J. Carlesimo. Lets start off with the the New York Knicks who have been struggling of late but have won there last two after coming off an embrassing lost to the 76ers last saturday. They had started off on a hot streak but now have slowly turned into a normal team who almost looks like last years team but much improved on the offensive side of the ball. In the beginning of the year they were the hottest team in the league starting undefeated but now there age is catching up to them which is not good because they have a tough schedule coming in playing playoff contenders from the Western Conference. With everyone getting heathy the knicks should be able to compete till the end and make some noise in the playoffs. Shumpert, Wallace , and Camby are slowly coming back including Stoudemire's presence now is making an impact where it is going to cause a headache for coach Woodson to figure out in who he wants to play and who should be sitting. This team is showing alot of heart and passion in every game this season but they are a hit or miss team that is not playing the defense like they were in the beginning of the year. Shumperts presence being in the lineup is making a difference because of the defense mentality he brings to the table. I think with the All Star Break right around the corner the rest could help this team in the second half of the season and make the push for the division title along with one of the top seeds for the playoffs. With them sitting as the number 2 seed in the conference right now the Knicks need to continue to play hungry and play with that passion they been playing with for the first half ot he year so far.

Lets go into the Heat and the Bulls right now who the Knicks continue to have problems with in trying to beat thier opponents and havent had any luck. The Heat are not looking good so far this season with losses against the Wizards and others who they shouldnt have lost to. Tonight they recieved a huge win against the Brooklyn Nets. The Heat are lead by none other than Lebron James and Dwayne Wade who have been carrying this team. They picked up a good player Chris Anderson who use to play for the Denver Nuggets it adds alittle more debt on thier defensive side and he can add alittle on offense as well. I think the Miami Heat have meet there match with the Knicks and Bulls who arent afraid to play them anymore. The Knicks this season have beat them both times by a combined score of 40 points in blow out victories. They lost alot of people who brought dept to there team last year but the heat now are relying on there fast break and speed to help them on defense and on offense.

The surprising team i think is the Chicago Bulls who have been playing excellent basketball without their star player Derrick Rose who is recovering from a horrifc ACL injury. He is expected to be back very soon who just took his first contact practice which is a good sign for this team. He is going to bring alot of fire power back to the team that already has enough contributers to help them go deep in the playoffs. Those players that have been steeping up are Deng, Noah, and Boozer who bring the veteran leadership. The bulls are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA who have been lead of the voice of Carlos Boozer who is a great defender. This team also has a great offensive team that continues to get contribution from everyone on every night they play. When they get Rose back they will have a true point guard that will bring many problems to any opposing opponent on any given night. The way i see things ending up is the Heat getting the Number 1 seed and Bulls getting the Number 2 seed and the Knicks as the number 3 seed. In the Conference title matchup i think it will be the Knicks and Bulls because of the type of teams they bring to the table. Which i think can cause an issue against any Western Conference team. We will have to wait and see what happens this is going to be a great season of basketball and the Eastern Conference is not a bust they have some great teams that not enough people give them credit.

I will be back on after the Superbowl this weekend this game will be a great one and will be very special. May the best team win and I hope it is not a blow out and it comes down to the wire like the last two superbowls. Everyone have a safe and enjoyable week and weekend.

Is the mens Duke Blue Devils basketball team title contenders or just overrated?

Tonight the Duke's mens basketball team started off the week becoming the new number 1 team in the country after the Louisville Cardinals lost over the weekend against the Syracuse Orangemen. The Blue Devils opponent starting off this week was a very good Miami Hurricane basketball team that has knocked off good opponents in the ACC confereance especially North Carolina. Leading up to this matchup the Blue Devils are coming off an impressive win against the university of Georgia Tech, and Miami  has been on a role winning the past five of seven games. Winning this game tonight was a huge step for a young Hurricane team to gain confidence with just a few weeks left in the season before conference tournament play starts. The Hurricanes are lead by sophmore point guard Shane Larkin who is the son of hall fame baseball player Barry Larkin and a senior cast that could make this team very diffcult to beat when tournament time comes around. Tonight the Blue Devils just showed me that they are overrated and arent a number one team by losing by 27 points. They had gotten run out of the gym tonight to where it ended up being an embrassment to future hall of fame basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski he looked lost for words midway throught the game. You knew he gave up when he benched his three key starters early in the second half of the game when they still had a chance to comeback to win. No matter what the score is they shouldn't have given up on the game so early in the second half. Miami was able to execute there offensive game plan with ease which made Duke look like a high school basketball team out there. Duke really needs to take a step back and figure out what needs to change to make sure an embarassment like this doesnt happen again. Duke shot just 30.1 percent in its loss today, the 2nd-worst performance by a No. 1 team in a loss since the 1996-97 season.

Duke's 27-point loss was tied for the school's sixth-largest loss under Coach Krzyzewski. Duke is the seventh Top-5 team in the last two weeks to lose. The Blue Devils are also the victim of two of the three losses by the top-ranked team in that span. I hope with this lost that they would consider to drop the Blue Devils out of the top 5 or even the top 10. Duke was outrebounded on offense and on defense which allowed Miami to get alot of fast break points and points in the paint which they arent very good in these categories. Dukes and Miami's schedule doesnt get any easier after this game, Duke heads onto play Wake Forest University and Miami heads onto play a Florida State team who is a scrappy bunch of players and will give Miami a challenge. We will see what happens when they take the court on there next game but tonight showed that Duke really misses there forward Ryan Kelly who is one of there key contributors to there offense. I think Duke has alot to do to make people believe that they are contenders for the National Title and with this win I think Miami really helped themselves make people realize who they are and a team not to take lightly.

I apologize for not having posted after the games on sunday but my predictions actually came true which i was totally surprised. This years Superbowl is going to be a good one and this is the first time two brothers as head coaches will face off to play one another. I cant wait for this years Superbowl because it is going to be a hard hitting teams battling it out in New Orleans.  For Hockey i am going to wait alittle longer just because it is to early to talk and discuss what has been going on ice ring. I will be back on tommorrow night after the battle in the Atlantic Division between the Knicks and the Celtics they are out for revenge lets see what happens tomorrow night after the game.  Please continue to comeback onto my log for more of my input of the games going on around the country. Hockey is back and now its time to drop the puck!!!!!!

You wouldn't think me of all people that i am a hockey fan but you are wrong i am a huge hockey fan who cant wait for the season to start. Tonight, we finally can say we are dropping the puck and seeing some hockey. This year alot of teams are starting fresh and look to go after the Stanley Cup and take it away from the Los Angeles Kings who had won it last year. Last years teams gained some star player or player they needed to cover there area of weakeness. In the Eastern Conference all the teams look very strong especially the playoff teams like the Rangers, Devils, Peguins, Flyers and Capitals for the Western Conference the Blakhawks, Wild, Red Wings, and others who will compete against these top teams in there respectful division. For the first game of the year they put some good ones on the schedule with the Peguins versus the Flyers and the Rangers versus Bruins. All four teams are developing a great rivarly between each other and now with a very condensed schedule which is a 48 game season no one knows what the outcome will be. Out of both conferences i think it will be the Rangers and Wild facing each other in the Stanley Cup finals. Both teams have the core of there squad back with new additions to the equation.

The Rangers have a special team who is young, hungry, and are on a mission last year from last seasons success. They were dissappointed in the outcome because they knew they can go all the way and win the championship. The Rangers made a huge trade in the off season by acquiring Rick Nash from the Colombus Blue Jackets. With the acquistion of Nash now it makes diffcult for coaches who are the opponents to figure out who to put the defenseman on which gives the edge to the Rangers who i think are going to be very special and lead to something we havent seen in a long time out of the Rangers. With the Minnesota Wild they have a veteran team who look like they are healthy and ready to play they have good scores and good defenseman which is important. I think it will be a competive Western Conference but i think after the dust cleares the Wild will be victorious coming out of that division.

Here is my quick thought on this years NHL season I will have more to come in the next couple of days after i am able to analyze each team. Come back tomorrow after the NFL championship games hope everyone is having a good and safe weekend.

Manti te'o how disrespectful can you be to pull a stunt like this?

For those who are college football fans know about this story of all american middle linebacker Manti Te'o in him telling about his grandmother and girlfriend passing away in the same day. We all felt horrible for him because of the two most important people in his life passing away in the same day. He was looked as a inspiration for what he had gone through the season to be able to help his team make it all the way to the National Championship game. We were all convinced that this happened because of how much attention he had brought upon himself while this happened. Now just yesterday reports came out saying that his girlfriend never existed and that of her passing was false. Reports speculate that he had an online relationship with some young lady by name of Lenny Kekua that she had passed away from leukemia. He said he was a victim of a hoax and that he never meet her and only had a online relationship. Another, report says he knew of this and enjoys the attention he wanted this to happen. Throughout the season he kept saying how she is with him in spirit and that he was going to play the season for them to. He is acting like he is the victim of this situation but if he is the victim why is it that he posted something twitter and had done an interview that was first viewed on ESPN the night of the big game. I think he continues to say alot of lies in trying to make sure he doesnt hurt his chances of getting drafted in the NFL. I had so much respect for this individual in how he conducted himself on the field and played the game. Now that he pulled this stunt i dont know what to think of him anymore.

Manti Te'o put a bad name on himself and especially Notre Dame University for making it seem like something horrific happened to him with his girlfriend. Notre Dame should be ashamed of the act he conducted and are acting like they knew barely anything about this. It is hurtful he would mention that someone would pass away from a deadly disease. Alot of stories are coming out now that his own teammates knew about this and are turning against him. They are saying he enjoys the attention and that he took this alittle to far. How could someone say someone who never exisited passed away from Leukemia. He is using it as a joke in my opinion because of those who truly have it and are battling for there lives. Those people are the ones who are truly hurting and suffering and are going through alot. Leukemia is not something he should be trying to get attention from and use it as publicity. It really makes me aggravated that he pulled this stunt i think no one will trust him every again until we get the true story from him. He needs to publicly come out and say something to try to help him clear his name. Before this happened he was highly considered to be a top ten draft pick but alot of people say now after this happened his stock dropped tremendously. To me he shouldnt be drafted at all or should be drafted later in the draft which many believe this will happen. I think he should do something for those who are fighting the disease and help out with charities to maybe clear his name. I think alot of people will never trust him again and everyone will look at Notre Dame totally different. Notre Dame is a excellent school that doesnt deserve to go through this which means they need to take action against Manti and figure things out so they can get the correct story.

This story truly bothers me a great football like him we thought he was now has everyone looking at hime the wrong way. It is going to take sometime before people arent talking about this for a long time which means he is going to have all this attention on him which he supposdely loves. This indiviudal has alot of issues he needs to have squared away before he could live a normal live because of what they are going to want to know in exactly is going on. I think this was no hoax and he wasnt the victim. The true victim i think out of this is the people who believed him and those who are battle this disease because it is no laughing matter how bad the disease is.

Sunday i wont be on until later in the evening after watching the two championship games here are my predictions 49ers out of the NFC and ravens representing the AFC. Have a good and safe weekend.

What a way to end a great weekend of NFL playoff football!!!!

This weekend showed true character in who wants to win these playoff games and to never give up no matter what the circumstances are. Out of the four playoff games i was correct in three out of the four games which is pretty good in selecting football games. The one team i think is playing with alot of confidence is the Baltimore Ravens they showed me alot of heart and desire in never giving up in the game. They made the plays when it was necessary and there opponent the Denver Broncos just had been outplayed and made the unneccessary penalities that they usually dont make.  Ray Lewis's career continues on to next weeks AFC championship rematch against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots who i think this time the ravens will come out victorious. I know they are going to be a very heavily underdog to the Patriots but with the confidence they have  coming out of Denver this is will a different outcome of how the game will be. Joe Flaco before the season started quoted by saying he thought he was one of the best quarterbacks in the league and put himself in the category of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Joe Flaco actually played a great game especially the last drive of the game to be able to take them down the field and tie up the game with a touchdown who he found Jacoby Jones down the sidelines against Champ Bailey. I think it is time for Champ Bailey to possibly play tighter coverage rather than giving the five yard distance between him and the reciever. The Ravens defense made numerous amount of stops just to keep the team in the ball game. The three future hall of famers Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed, and of course Ray Lewis conducted the veteran role perfectly in making sure the defense was on top of things. They made Peyton Manning feel very uncomfortable and made him throw a huge interception late in the first overtime which lead to the game winning touchdown. I  think next weeks game will be a special one that will go right down to the wire. With the Patriots game i really couldnt give to much detail because the outcome of the game was what i thought it was that Brady just dominated from start to finish.

Now onto the NFC side of things Both games were good but i think one team got very lucky in making it there. San Fransico 49ers gave an excellent showing on both sides of the ball especially on defense in making Araon Rodgers feel very uncomfortable. The one person who i think was very impressive who i havent seen much of was 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick who had over 100 yards in rushing by himself and hd the offense rack up over 400 yards in total offense. he looked like he has done it before. The big playmakers of Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree came up big with having a pair of touchdowns a piece. Green Bay Packers really didnt show much heart because after they were down 14 points they seemed like they gave up. John Harbough seems like he has this team determined in getting over that hump of taking the next step in making it to the Super Bowl and winning it all. Next week i think they will be able to take the next step and head to the SuperBowl down in New Orleans. Now to the team that i thought got lucky today was the Atlanta Falcons who had a substanial lead in going to late in the game. Give credit to the Seahwaks who showed heart and leadership especially from Rookie Quarterback Russell Wilson who brought his team back and lead to almost an amazing comeback. The Atlanta Falcons are almost there in being SuperBowl contender they just need more help on defense. I think next weeks NFC Championship game is going to be either a battle or a slaughter because one of the two teams is very hard to handle. I think Seattle shouldnt feel upset they should hold there heads up high and use this momentum for next season. The Seahawks are going to be a good team from this point on, they have a bright future ahead of them and should be interesting.

My predictions for next weeks championship sunday are the Ravens over the Patriots and the 49ers over the Falcons. I think both road teams are matched up equally against the top seeds that are left in both divisions. I think next weeks games are going to be very special and we are going to see something very special. I will be on later in the week after watching this weeks college basketball big games we are defiently going to see a new number one team in the country which is the Louisville Cardinals. I think now with Kelly out for the Duke blue devils they will have trouble at the power forward poisition. Leave me some feedback in what you think and what you would want to hear on my blog. Was that a National Title Game or a High School Football Game?

I thought tonight was suppose to be the BCS national title game between the # 1 ranked Notre Dame and # 2 Alabama. Alabama just proved to everyone that the SEC football conference is the best in college football and they manhandled Notre Dame from the opening kickoff. There was speculation that Alabama didnt show enough effort through out the week in practice. The Seniors on the Alabama team took the leading role in getting the teams mindset back into focus for the game that they dream about playing from when they are little kids. Alabamas offensive line who has mostly seniors played an incredible game in pushing the defensive team of Notre Dame who has three players who will play in the NFL. Notre Dame had missed so many tackles in which lead to Alabama scoring 42 points. Notre Dame tried to do something that they shouldnt have and that was to have there quaterback Gholston do everything for them on offense. Notre Dame has good enough players at there Wide Recievers and at Running Back positions. They should have tried to mix up the play calling  instead of running almost the same plays over and over. Also i think it was crazy for them to continue on throwing to the right side of the field who Notre Dame had thought they had the advantage against Alabamas best cornerback which he shut down there best reciever.

Notre Dame's defense had shut down teams during the year but tonight was the first time of them giving up more the 70 plus yards in which lead the opponent of scoring a touchdown. They need to improve tremendously in thier secondary because they looked lost and confused in who they had to cover which lead to big pass plays for the Crimson Tide. Coach Brian Kelly of Notre Dame needs to not worry about his offense as much as he does. This off season he needs to look into possibly recruting more of a defensive minset of a team especially in the secondary. The one person that will be hard to replace is Manti Teo who was the heart and soul of the team. He is a truly classy player and student on and off the field. The reason i keep talking about why Notre Dame defense needs to improve is because they gave up a total of alittle over 500 plus yards.

What is scary about this Alabama team is that most of thier players will be returning next year and have the chance to go for a third straight National Title. I think teams really need to look at the Texas A&M film in how they beat the Crimson Tide. Both Running backs Eddie Lacey and  T.J. Yeldon had both combined for having a 100 plus yards in rushing. This was an impressive performance by both running backs. This begins the speculation if the coaches poll made the correct decision in selecting Notre Dame as the opponent against Alabma. I think they made the wrong choice and should have selected Oregon. Oregon i believe would have gave a better effort in trying to win this huge game. This is another reason in why we need to have a playoff system in college football because it seems they keep screwing up in the team they choose as either number one or number two. This was an incredible season of college football that had tremendous upsets, teams that shocked alot of people, and many coaches either leaving or being fired. Next Year i think many teams are going to improve more and we will start to see these schools who really dont know continue to grow and show why they belong.
